The Poenisch Life

It was suggested to me today to make a separate page for things about our family.  In this area, I will put Izzy-isms, and other aspects of life.  That way the main page can focus on the theme of the day! :)

Lazy day today!  We woke up late and then this lovely little waitress came and asked if she could take my order for toast and eggs...Then around lunchtime, we went on a 6 or 7 mile bike ride to check out some local trails.  We had a great time, but we never found the park!  Now we are at home watching the Huskers lose BAAAAAD to the Badgers!

Today started off not so nice.  Isabel woke up hollering 'Daddddddddddy' even though she knows he is at work when she wakes.  Then I spent 20 minutes explaining that Daddy was, indeed, at work, and not in the bathroom like she thought.  I must have heard, 'Mama, go check' 15 times!  I took her to daycare again, and that started off disasterous.  I finally distracted her by telling her we could change her earrings to the 'crown' earrings - pics to come!  Her grammy Cheryl got them for her, and she adores them.  I also let her change MY earrings (not the best idea) but she tried so hard.  She told me, before she tried to poke new ones in my ears, "This wont hurt a bit mommy.  I promise."  It did hurt, but nothing in the world could have made me tell her that when I saw how proud she was!

It took us some time to get out of the house because she was pretty teary at the idea of leaving mama.  She is so excited for the toys at Cole's house, and Cole herself.  She loves the kids, and is all smiles everytime we pick her up, but drop offs are hard.  When I left today, she was hollering at Cole, "My mama and Daddy are coming to pick me up both after naptime' and Cole, bless her heart, was patiently agreeing with her.  I didn't know if I should laugh or pity her, but she had calmed within 5 minutes of me walking out the door, so I hope she is happily playing right now.

Isabel showed me how careful I need to be with my language today.  I made an offhand comment, and slipped in a curse word.  I've now heard it 16 times....  We also enjoyed the kids museum today.  Kev took us there after work, and Iz was thrilled with her surprise date!
